I’m extremely scared to get this surgery after hearing all the horror stories. I’m a 40-year-old male who has ulcerative colitis so I’m on Remicade for about 10 years now and that’s all managed fine. My parents can’t come to take care of me until next month but my best friend and his wife are telling me to recover at their place. I don’t think they realize how intimate of surgery this is. I’m just scared of the pain and the doctor not giving enough pain meds. He’s supposed to be one of the better ones in the area but I felt like the pain medication he gave with the last surgery wasn’t strong enough and his nurse is surprised it went so painful for me with that one.
